Melissa Barrera is grateful for her sisterly bond with Jenna Ortega.

The pair starred in Scream (2022) and Scream VI (2023) together in which the 33-year-old actress played the role of Sam Carpenter and the Wednesday star portrayed her sister Tara.

However, Melissa was fired by Spyglass, following her comments on the Israel-Palestine war. The production claimed that it has "zero tolerance for antisemitism or the incitement of hate in any form."

In a new interview with The Hollywood Reporter, the Mexican actress shared how supportive Jenna was after the unfortunate development.

“We chatted for a while, and I love her so much. She’s been very supportive of me, and we’re sisters for life," Melissa spoke of the 21-year-old actress.

As for her exit from the franchise, she expressed zero remorse in another interview with Rolling Stone as she stated, “I know who I am, and I know that what I said always came from a place of love and a place of humanity and a place of human rights and a place of freedom for people, which shouldn’t be controversial.”
