Police foil attack on check-post in Peshawar

PESHAWAR: Police claimed to have foiled a militant attack on its check-posts in Peshawar, Geo News reported on Saturday.

The police said that as many as 50 militants ambushed Aza Khel check-post with heavy weapons in Matni.

The area reverberated with heavy gun fire as the law enforces repulsed the attack in befitting manner.

Heavy contingents of security forces were also called in as the police and the attackers exchanged fire for over an hour.

The militants abandoned a car near the police post and managed to flee. There was no report of any casualty from the ambush.
