Ryan Reynolds, Shawn Levy fulfil Hugh Jackman’s Prophecy: Here’s How

Ryan Reynolds and Shawn Levy are more than just director and actor to each other as the duo just shared a glimpse into their dynamic bond.

Speaking to PEOPLE magazine at the CinemaCon in Las Vegas, the Canadian director shared that the duo has gotten along quite well from the beginning and revealed who predicted their unexpected friendship.

“Hugh Jackman”, he revealed with a grin, who foretold their prosperous friendship, “That was 2010 — the prophet, a little known special talent”, he added.

Explaining how the conversation unfolded, he shared that it was on the set of 2011’s Real Steel that Jackman predicted, “For what it's worth, if you ever meet and work with Ryan Reynolds, you're never going to stop”.

The Night at the Museum director also weighed in on his relationship with Ryan and disclosed that they first met for a movie that never turned to fruition, he recalled, “I met Ryan about a movie we didn't end up making together — that I'll never name — and we just had an ease with each other”.

“But it really, really manifested on our first time sitting down to talk about Free Guy. It was a script about video gaming, but we had other themes and messages in mind. And we just connected in terms of wanting to give audiences a movie that transports them and makes them laugh”, he continued.

Adding that now the pals live only “half a block from each other” which allowed them to hang out “more than [Levy] had with any male friend since literally high school”, the comrades became “extremely close friends”.

The buddies have collaborated before for the Free Guy, The Adam Project and most recently for Deadpool & Wolverine where the 47-year-old actor would be reprising his role as the notorious Wade Wilson.
