‘Ready or Not' team teases fans with sequel: ‘We're so excited it's happening'

Ready or Not creators opened up about a potential sequel to the 2019 horror-comedy, teasing fans with an upcoming ‘banger’.

The directors of the beloved film, Tyler Gillett and Matt Bettinelli-Olpin along with producer Chad Villella (the filmmaking trio also known as Radio Silence), spoke to Entertainment Weekly and revealed that they had a sequel in mind since the original film’s release.

The trio went to Las Vegas with the writers of the film, Guy Busick and R. Christopher Murphy, to discuss a sequel in 2019, as per reports.

"I don't think we knew after making it that there would be so much story left to tell”, Gillett shared before confirming that the team had finally got their hand on an “absolute f****** banger” of a script.

"It's getting figured out," Gillett said of the second installment which remains to be officially greenlit by Searchlight Pictures.

"That's what we'll say: Ready or Not 2 is getting figured out. What we can say is that there is a script that is an absolute f****** banger of a sequel. And however it gets made, and in whatever capacity we are helping get it made, we are so excited that it's happening”.

For those unversed, the first movie revolved around Samara Weaving’s grace as she ends up in a bloody game of hide and seek with her new in-laws. With the story concluding to a tragic end for the Le Domas and Weaving successfully surviving the night, fans are eager to know what comes next.

"We're so proud of what that first movie is, we're so proud of what the sequel is”, enthused Gillett, ”We’re just really excited, and fingers crossed that it gets made”.
