Ann Hathaway reveals inspiration behind her role in the upcoming movie

Anne Hathaway revealed how being a mother helped her to understand her character in her new romantic comedy movie The Idea of You.

The Witches actress spoke to People Magazine during the premiere of her upcoming movie The Idea of You in New York City and shared that the love she has for her children, sons Jonathan, 8, and Jack, 4, helped her to prepare for her character of Solene.

“I don't think it's necessary to be a mother to play a mother. I think that should be open to lots of different actors. But for me, in terms of understanding the depth of love that you can feel for this person and what you would be willing to do," she told the outlet.

She went on to say, “I felt like it allowed the love for Hayes to be even bigger for Solène because she loves her daughter more than anything."

“I mean, we love our children beyond words and for her to choose her daughter over him, I don't know, it just made their love that much more important," she added.

It is pertinent to mention that in the upcoming rom-com, Anne will be playing the role of a 40-year-old divorced mother who develops an unexpected love with a young pop star Hayes, played by Nicholas Galitzine.

Moreover, the movie is based on Robinne Lee's novel of the same name.

The Idea of You is all set to release on Amazon Prime Video on May 2, 2024.
