Justin Timberlake mocks his ‘It's Gonna Be Me' mispronunciation in hilarious video

Justin Timberlake poked fun at himself as he posted a new video embracing the meme-worthy mispronunciation of his titular line in NSYNC’s It’s Gonna Be Me.

A mispronunciation that broke the Internet in 2012 seemingly ‘haunts’ Timberlake to this day or that’s what he said in a new Instagram video.

“What's a word you pronounced incorrectly one time and it still haunts you to this day?", influencer @umgabi begins the video with a question, to which the 43-year-old hilariously replied with, “Um... Me”.

The meme stems from NSYNCs 2000 hit It’s Gonna Be Me where the Sexy Back singer annunciated the word Me as May, spawning an endless slew of memes.

According to E! News, the first iteration of the meme appeared on Tumblr in 2012 with a smiling picture of the father of two on a calendar and It’s Gonna Be May written over it.

Since then Internet users have posted different versions of the meme featuring eccentric pictures of The Social Network actor.

Joey Fatone of NSYNC also weighed in on the viral meme during a recent interview with People magazine and revealed that the boy band hasn’t let the joke fade away as they often send a ‘good one’ of it in the group chat.

He commented, “It was really funny. Every once in a while, one of us will find a good one and we'll send it in the group text”.
