Emily Blunt spills most hair-raising stunt in ‘Mary Poppins Returns’

Emily Blunt talked about her riskiest stunt which on the set of the 2018 fantasy film Mary Poppins Returns

During an engaging appearance on The Howard Stern Show, the 41-year-old dished on her terrifying experience revealing that she almost peed her pants.

Revealing that it was the opening scene where the titular character had to descend from the sky on a kite, the actress added, “It was described in the script like she starts in the clouds and I really started in the clouds.”

“They wanted to do it as a oner, and by a oner, I mean, you know, all in one shot, you start way up high small as a pin and then I walk into my close-up once I land. That was the idea”, she continued

However, what sounded like a ‘great shot’ at first and ‘seduced’ Emily into agreeing for the shot later turned into a regret as she realized the scope of this ‘idea’.

“I was like, 'That's an amazing shot.' But they start with winching you up and you get like 20 feet and you're like, 'Woo, that's quite high,' and then you keep going up and suddenly you're at like 65 feet in the air”, she recalled.

“It’s f****** scary”, she exclaimed before adding, “I thought I was going to pee my pants. I was so scared and if I looked down, Lin-Manuel [Miranda] was tiny, which was scary. If I looked straight out, I was taller than the trees. So I just waited for 'action'”.

"I did three takes, and then I felt my tolerance snap in half, and I went, 'That's it, I'm done. I will not go up there again’”, said the Oppenheimer actress.

The acclaimed movie was released in 2018 as a sequel to the original 1964 film Mary Poppins starring Julie Andrews.
