Selena Gomez reveals why Martin Short is 'unhappy' with her engagement

Selena Gomez revealed that her TV dad, Martin Short, “was unhappy" with her engagement to Benny Blanco.

The 32-year-old pop sensation shared her Only Murders in the Building co-stars' reactions to the happy news during an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live!

When Jimmy asked Selena if her new fiancé called Martin and asked him for permission to propose, she replied, "He didn't."

“But I have a feeling Marty wasn't very happy about that,” she said of her costars’ reaction to her engagement. “He just gave us a little bit of jokes here and there.”

On December 12, Selena announced her engagement to Benny.

The Emilia Perez actress took to her Instagram handle to reveal that the music producer had proposed to her, showing off her gorgeous engagement ring.

“Forever begins now,” Selena captioned the post.
