Chappell Roan reveals shocking truth about her career: ‘Had to override’

Chappell Roan, known for her bold personality and powerful vocals, recently revealed that she would be “way bigger” in the industry if she had mastered one habit.

While giving an interview to BCC on January 19, the 26-year-old singer said she will not stop speaking her mind despite being called a “spoiled diva” and accused of having “tantrums.”

Roan shared that she had dealt with harassment, including people “stalking” her parents' home.

Calling such actions “crazy,” she articulated that pop stars are expected to stay quiet about them.

Notably, in September 2024, the Die Young crooner took the internet by storm for speaking out against a photographer who was hammering stars at the MTV Video Music Awards.

Referring to that incident, she stated, “I've been responding that way to disrespect my whole life — but now there are cameras on me, and I also happen to be a pop star, and those things don't match. It's like oil and water."

Roan added, "I think, actually, I'd be more successful if I was okay wearing a muzzle. If I were to override more of my basic instincts, where my heart is going, 'Stop, stop, stop, you're not okay,' I would be bigger.”

"I would be way bigger ... And I would still be on tour right now,” the Picture You hitmaker highlighted.

It is pertinent to mention that Chappell Roan has secured six nominations for the 2025 Grammy Awards, which will be taking place next week in Los Angeles.

The nominations include best new artist, album of the year, and best pop solo performance.
