LONDON: Australia captain Michael Clarke is doubtful for his side's Champions Trophy opener against hosts England this weekend after missing Tuesday's warm-up match against India in Cardiff with a recurrence of his longstanding back problem.
"Michael is still experiencing some lower back pain and as such is not fit for the warm-up game against India today (Tuesday)," said Australia physiotherapist Alex Kountouris.
"He will head to London tomorrow (Wednesday) for specialist treatment and a decision on his fitness for the next game will be made in due course."
Defending champions Australia face England in their opening match of the 50-overs per side Champions Trophy tournament at Edgbaston on Saturday. (AFP)
