KARACHI: DIG Traffic Police Dr Amir Ahmed Shaikh after meeting with Rangers officials on Tuesday announced that Rangers personnel will now provide security to traffic police personnel in Karachi.
Following a high level meeting, it was decided that traffic police officials will notify the Rangers regarding high traffic areas of the city.
The meeting concluded that with the presence of both Rangers as well as traffic police personnel, there will be better control over traffic as well as security.
The DIG Traffic Police stated that until the culprits involved in the attacks on Karachi traffic police personnel are not apprehended, work cannot move forward. He called for both Rangers as well as Police Commandos to provide security to traffic police personnel.
During at least four recent incidents, three traffic police personnel in Karachi were shot dead, while five were injured.
