King Charles shatters Kate Middleton's hope with delay in major decision

King Charles has delayed a major decision related to Kate Middleton and Prince William as the Princess of Wales is set to make history.

According to a report by The Times, the monarch has delayed the decision to grant permission to Kate and William to bestow their own royal warrants.

The publication, citing royal insiders, reported that until King Charles issues permission to Kate and William, applications cannot be considered.

The report further says becoming a royal grantor is at the whim of the sovereign and not an automatic right.

King Charles became a grantor as Prince of Wales in 1980, yet the privilege was not extended to Princess Diana when she married him the following year.

Earlier, royal expert Kate Mansey, in her report for The Times, had claimed Kate Middleton prepares to honour British brands with royal warrants for the first for a Princess of Wales since 1910.

The report quoted the source as claiming the future queen will “recognise British skills and industry” when she grants royal warrants to her favoured companies this year.

The royal expert claimed, “It will be the first time that Kate has granted royal warrants and a first for anyone holding the title Princess of Wales since the days of Queen Mary, who issued warrants before her husband, George V, ascended the throne in 1910.”

The report went on claiming although there is no timeline yet for when Kate and William will grant royal warrants, sources close to the Princess say it was her “hope” that they would be announced in due course, adding: “She’s keen to recognise British skills and industry.”
