Britain’s royal family has released a statement on their social media handles amid Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s 7th wedding anniversary on Monday.
The palace spokesperson shared a photo of Prince Edward with Pope Leo XIV with a statement.
The statement reads, “The Duke of Edinburgh meets Pope Leo XIV following his Inaugural Mass at the Vatican.
“His Royal Highness was representing The King at yesterday’s event which marked the official start of the new Papacy.”
Earlier on Sunday, Buckingham Palace said “The King was represented by The Duke of Edinburgh at the Inaugural Mass for Pope Leo XIV which was held in St. Peter's Square, Vatican City, this morning.”
The royal family’s post comes as Meghan and Harry are celebrating their 7th wedding anniversary today, May 19th.
The duchess and Prince Harry tied the knot on 19th May 2018 in St George's Chapel at Windsor Castle and share two children Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet together.
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are now both devoted to their children.
Moreover, royal expert Jennie Bond believes Meghan and Harry would not receive anniversary wishes from the royal family amid their ongoing feud.
Jennie Bond said: "I very much doubt that there will be anniversary wishes winging their way from the UK to California."
The royal family has not publicly extended any wishes to Meghan and Harry till now today.
