Jeremy Jordon is drawing the line after too many tragic endings.
In a talk with PEOPLE magazine at the 2025 Tony Awards "Meet the Nominees" event, the 40-year-old American Broadway and TV actor and singer reflected on something strange about his theatre roles, as all of his characters Clyde Barrow, Jay Gatsby, and Floyd Collins died at the end of their respective shows.
Jordon said, "I will not be accepting any more roles with the title characters in the '20s because that generally means they will die."
He went on to reveal that the characters he chose had something deeper and talked about their deaths by quipping, "I don't know. It just happened. A lot of stories are about people who die too young. That's an exciting and interesting story point."
The star of The Last Five Years jokingly stated that "I guess I just look good dead.”
For the unversed, Jordon is now nominated for Best Actor in a Musical at the Tony Awards for his performance as Collins in the namesake musical that is based on a book by Tina Landau.
