King Charles has made a big decision about former football legend David Beckham amid reports of his rift with Meghan Markle and Prince Harry over friendship with Nicola Peltz and Brooklyn.
Speculations over whether David would receive the honour had been swirling ever since King Charles ascended to the throne.
Now, finally David Beckham, who shares close bond with the royal family, will be awarded a knighthood next week as part of King Charles birthday celebrations.
According to a report by the Guardian, David Beckham will be named in King Charles III’s birthday honours list and will take the title of sir.
David’s wife, Victoria Beckham, the fashion designer and former Spice Girls member, will take the name Lady Beckham.
David Beckham received an OBE (Order of the British Empire) in 2003 and was said to have been first put forward for a knighthood in 2011, after helping London win its bid to host the 2012 Olympic Games.
The report further says the former football legend was blocked from receiving the title after being implicated in a tax avoidance scheme, which he was cleared of four years ago.
The honour for David has been confirmed amid reports Meghan and Harry are secretly supporting Brooklyn and his wife amid their family row — and had them over for dinner.
