Selena Gomez sparks health concerns after vaping video surfaces online

Selena Gomez has reignited public concern over her health after fans spotted what appeared to be an e-cigarette in her hand in a now-viral Instagram video, sparking a fresh wave of speculation surrounding her lupus condition and kidney transplant history.

The video, posted by a fan account, shows Gomez exhaling a vapor-like mist while scrolling through her phone during a glam session ahead of her night out with singer Taylor Swift on May 31. 

From another angle, she appears to hold what looks like a vape pen, prompting immediate reaction from fans across social media platforms, as per Daily Mail. 

Gomez, who was diagnosed with lupus in 2013 and received a life-saving kidney transplant in 2017, has previously been vocal about her health battles, including her use of chemotherapy and her ongoing struggles with pain and mental illness, as highlighted in her 2022 Apple TV+ documentary My Mind & Me.

Given that lupus patients are generally advised against smoking or vaping due to their potential to worsen immune responses, fans expressed concern that vaping could pose serious risks to her kidney health or overall well-being. 

As per the outlet, others speculated whether she might be using a device containing CBD or THC for pain or anxiety management.

Some viewers also pointed to her past falling out with kidney donor Francia Raisa, voicing anger on her behalf. 

Moreover, the two had previously clashed over Gomez’s post-surgery lifestyle, which allegedly included alcohol consumption and smoking, habits that fans feared might now be resurfacing.

While critics expressed disappointment, many fans defended Gomez’s autonomy, stating that as an adult, she has the right to make her own health decisions.
