Prince Harry steals focus from important talk by shifting attention to Meghan

Prince Harry recently sparked backlash after he stole focus from an important cause by mentioning his wife, Meghan Markle, claimed expert.

The Duke of Sussex recently made a solo appearance at a children’s online safety summit in New York, but some critics say his message got lost when he brought up the Duchess.

While speaking about the importance of protecting kids online at the Nexus Global Summit, Harry mentioned that Meghan was the most trolled person in 2018.

He explained that their support for the cause comes from personal experience by highlighting how brutally his wife has been trolled since she started dating him.

However, some royal experts felt the focus shifted away from the real issue and became more about Meghan.

According to The Express, royal reporter Pandora Forsyth noted that Harry failed to grab headlines like he used to in the past.

"If you think back to a few years ago, if Harry was appearing in New York, it would be sort of like front page headlines,” she said.

"But he does so many of these conferences and appearances now, it sort of seeps into the background,” Forsyth added.

She continued, "He is trying as best he can to link back to actually quite a noble cause, which is children who have unfortunately and very tragically committed suicide… part of the reason is because of online trolling.

“But this was in 2018, and if he keeps on linking it back to this, then I sort of think it takes away from the really important matter at hand.

“And now the headline is actually Meghan. And not that."
