Prince William is said to be a driving force behind Andrew's exit from the royal lodge after his fall from the grace over his connections to the convicted financier.
Heir to the British throne William believes that Andrew's past will be chasing the monarchy like a racing horse if barriers are not put in place to halt it.
King Charles has already officially stripped Andrew of his royal titles and honours. He will no longer be styled "Prince Andrew" or "His Royal Highness," and will instead be known as Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor.
However, William is more anxious to get this settled before taking his destined role. He believes Andrew's presence will cast a shadow over his reign, and he doesn’t want that baggage when he is crowned.
Some royal commentators appear to defend the future monarch's stance against his uncle, explaing why it's important for William to get rid of Andrew's issue before ascending to the throne, especially amidst ongoing protests and placards displaying 'Shame' alongside the disgraced royal's image in the UK.
William believes Andrew's scandal halts the monarchy's progress, harming its reputation and distracting the royals from performing their duties, as it's essential for the institution to move forward with its usual splendour and prestige.
"They operate at different speeds, but in this situation, with someone like Andrew, letting it drag on like this leaves the institution looking positively ancient and cumbersome, not the agile monarchy that can modernize with the times," royal commentator Meredith Constant told Fox News.
Menawhile, Andrew is desperate to take whatever he can get despite his fall from grace, attempting to salvage as much of his forever privilege as possible before he is ousted from Royal Lodge. The former prince is also fighting a losing battle to protect his dignity and his daughters status as princesses.
