Since the Knicks are one win away from their first NBA championship in 53 years, thousands of fans are organising a Knicks watch party across Manhattan.
Registration for watch parties is open at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, June 13. All events have mandated advance registration with no walk-ins.
There will be an NYPD “frozen zone” in place surrounding Madison Square Garden, and everyone entering the arena will need to go through metal detectors and a bag check. Items such as weapons, alcohol, fireworks, and large bags are banned.
Alumni appearances are expected at each watch party, with special contests, photo opportunities, and jumbotron-style coverage of the game.
The games will air on ABC 7, and live streams will be available on ESPN and YouTube.
Early arrival is encouraged for fans, even though there is no guarantee of entry once the number of people reaches the limit, despite having registered. With a series score of 3-1, the Knicks could win their first championship title in 1973 if they emerge victorious in today’s game.
