It's not good news for Liam Payne's fans, as the late star's final television project has reportedly been axed after just one season.

The late singer's Netflix show Building the Band has not been renewed for a second season, insiders have claimed.

The series, which premiered last year, marked Liam's last completed project before his death in October 2024.

'Although there are currently no plans for a second season of Building The Band, bosses at Netflix are really proud of what they achieved,' an insider has revealed.

'That's because the show led to the creation of four amazing groups and all of them have since signed record deals.'

The source added: 'The finalist groups – 3quency, SZN4, Soulidified and Midnight Til Morning – have all released original music, toured internationally – and attract hundreds of thousands of listeners each month.

'And Midnight Til Morning are performing at BST Hyde Park at the end of this month,' they added to The Sun.

During the first season, the late One Direction alum was honored with a touching tribute.

It is pertinent to mention that Payne served as a guest judge at the show along with Kelly Rowland and Nicole Scherzinger. His scenes were filmed before his death in the summer of 2024.

Liam tragically died on October 16, 2024 at the age of 31 after falling from a balcony of a multistory building in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
