With the free agency trade period set to begin this week, NBA rumor factory has already started the spinning.
The latest NBA chatter surrounding Lakers icon LeBron James and Wizards' Anthony Davis is swirling full throttle.
Multiple media reports suggest that Golden State Warriors are not just eyeing a trade for James but also his former teammate Davis as well.
According to a report by senior NBA analyst Kevin O’Connor, the Warriors are set to trade LeBron James along with AD ahead of the free agency trade starting this week.
For the unversed, the Warriors had tried to trade King James in 2024.
While citing the league sources, the report claims the Warriors are trying to trade for Wizard big gun Anthony Davis and then head on board Los Angeles Lakers free-agent LeBron James.
For Davis trade, they need to include Jimmy Butler, who is recovering from a damaged ACL; his contract is near expiry, he inked with Washington Wizards at a whopping $57 million.
If the Warriors succeed in adding Davis to the roster, it would help lure LeBron from the Lakers once free agency officially kicks off on Tuesday, June 30, 2026.
After the Laker’s playoff exit, the questions around James’ NBA future have gained traction on social media.
Whether the 42-year-old makes a comeback for the 24th season or announces retirement is yet to be seen, but we might get the answer very soon as free-agency trades begin tomorrow, Tuesday, June 30.
