Newborn found dead in toilet at Michigan's Electric Forest festival: police probe underway

A police investigation is underway after a body of a newborn was discovered at Electric Forest festival on Sunday morning, June 28, 2026.

According to the Michigan police officials, the body of the teen was found in a portable restroom in Rothbury village, located in Oceana County, Michigan.

The Michigan State Police released a statement saying the body of a “neonate,” which is a newborn infant who is four weeks old or younger, was found in a porta-potty in the camping area at the festival on Sunday morning.”

According to the agency, the portable restroom where the body was discovered was in the camping area of the annual music event, named Electric Forest.

The Michigan police have provided an online link for those who were present at the festival and saw anything suspicious to report to the agency directly.

The festival at Double JJ Ranch, which packs in dozens of DJs and music artists, runs from Thursday, June 25, to Sunday, June 28.

For the unversed, Rothbury is a village area located in Oceana County, about 61 miles northwest of Grand Rapids, Michigan.
