Prince William and Prince Harry would be marking an important milestone on Wednesday despite their ongoing rift, a painful heartbreak for their beloved member.

The brothers who once held a close bond together have not spoken a word to each other in over three years, but there is one thing that they still stand united is the love they hold for their late mother, Princess Diana.

It would have been Diana’s 65th birthday on July 1st, 2026, but she would be commemorated, albeit separately by her two sons, according to royal expert and close ally of Diana, Jennie Bond.

“In the past, we have seen Harry and William coming together to honour their mother, even when their relationship was strained. But that’s not going to happen this year,” Bond told The Mirror.

“I’m sure they will each remember her in their own way – it’s thought that Harry at least will visit his mother’s grave when he is in the UK next week.”

Bond explained that both William and Harry have taken their own routes to carry on Diana’s legacy. Harry walks in her footsteps across minefields and William campaigns against homelessness and making mental health a priority.

She added that the late royal would have been “distraught” to see both her son warring when Diana wanted to see her sons stand united especially after William’s ascension.

“I think she would have appealed to William and Harry to find a way to forgive, if not forget,” Bond said. “And she would have been absolutely torn if she had grandchildren on either side of the Atlantic.”
