Kelly Clarkson came to Las Vegas to sing, but she apparently decided the audience was also getting the unfiltered version of her dating history.
During her Studio Sessions residency at Caesars Palace on Saturday, August 8, the Miss Independent singer revealed she once had to break up with the same person — twice.
“I swear to God, I’ve had to break up with someone twice. That’s a real story. That’s true,” Clarkson said while introducing her new song “I’d Be Lyin’.”
She admitted the second breakup was just as painful, especially when the other person acted confused.
“I was like, ‘What do you mean? We were there. We were both there. What the f–k did you hear? Like, it was already hard enough on both of us. Why are we doing it again? Like, it’s crazy.'”
Clarkson said the bizarre experience eventually became songwriting material.
“That happens, you know? You say something and people filter that s–t and they hear what they want to hear,” she explained.
“So I ended up writing this song. I was like, this is about to— we need a song for this.”
The singer also got serious while introducing Piece by Piece, reflecting on unhealthy relationships and therapy.
“It’s a reality for a lot of us. A lot of us…deserved better, and that’s a tough thing to grow up with…it’s a tough thing to find healthy relationships when you’ve never been shown one. But those are all excuses. I learned that in therapy,” she said.
Then came the Lion’s Gate Portal — and Clarkson’s b**bs somehow became part of the spiritual conversation.
“There’s a lot of amazing things happening. Uh oh, there’s my b**bs,” she joked.
“They’re too small, they won’t come out…they’re perfect! But I just mean they’re not going anywhere. They’re perfect,” she laughed.
Honestly, Vegas got the full Kelly Clarkson experience.
