Princess Charlotte takes on official royal role as Prince George departs

Princess Charlotte stepped up for a key royal role as her brother Prince George gears up to leave the family to honour family tradition and prepare for a future position.

Notably, the second in line to the throne is following in the footsteps of his father, Prince William and beginning his new chapter at Eton in September.

In his absence, his sister Charlotte, who is already quite sharp, is ready to tackle significant tasks.

According to New Idea, "Charlotte’s having to take up the mantle left by George at boarding school, but it’s nothing she’s fazed by at all."

The 11-year-old royal received the title of "natural leader" and enjoys being given more responsibilities.

In recent public outings, Charlotte put on display her confidence and did not shy away from embracing her position as part of the royal family.

She will also be guiding her youngest brother Prince Louis in George's absence.

The source said, "Louis is still being carefully protected and growing up in a world that’s as ‘normal as possible,' but he’s starting to understand that his mum and dad are special and not every kid’s grandad is a king.

"He’s going to miss his brother, but is following Charlotte’s lead and being strong and brave."
