Freddie Freeman banged up after scary dugout fall; status uncertain for Brewers series

Freddie Freeman took a scary tumble during Wednesday night's game against the Royals after falling into the visitor's dugout while trying to catch a foul ball.

The Dodgers won 4-2 over the Kansas City Royals on Wednesday, August 12.

The scary incident occurred when Dodgers star Freeman attempted to catch a foul popup, which led to his exit in the eighth inning.

Freeman appeared aching in shoulder, hand, knee and foot areas after the scary fall, but when he looked east when he died out, he didn’t strike his head.

The LA Dodgers' first baseman Freeman, while tracking the ball hit by Isaac Collins' high foul ball, landed in the Royals’ dugout.

“I was going to lean against the rail to catch the ball. And obviously, there was no rail,” said Freddie Freeman in a post-match press conference.

Freeman is uncertain whether he will make it to the Thursday four-game series match against the Milwaukee Brewers, but he’s grateful his free fall to the dugout floor wasn’t worse.

“I didn’t hit my head, so that was the key part there.

“I am sore. Kneecaps are sore. Shoulder is sore. Hand sore. Wrist sore. I mean, I fell. (But) I’m in good spirits,” Freeman added.

For context, it’s not the first time that Dodgers’ star Freeman has tumbled while attempting to catch a foul ball.

Freeman recalled the memories from a decade-old game when he was signed up by the Braves, where he crashed over a railing and landed in an odd way on some seats.

At the time, he didn’t exit the game and was able to play the next day.
