Frankie Valli insists he's not retiring despite his brother's announcement

Frankie Valli is not retiring after all.

The 92-year-old singer’s brother, Bobby Valli, claimed in a Facebook announcement on Wednesday, August 12, that Frankie has retired after a long and illustrious music career. But in a surprising twist, Frankie’s representative told Variety just hours later, “He is not retired. This is false.”

The Four Seasons frontman addressed the false announcement himself in a follow-up social media statement, writing, “In spite of what you might have heard, I am not retired.”

In the contested announcement, Bobby wrote, “My brother Frankie, whom I am so proud of and love him dearly… He has had a wonderful life, a dream come true. He is an incredible singer. Has had a magnificent career in music.”

Bobby shared a photo of himself with Frankie taken in 2025, adding that his brother had reached a point where he could step away from performing and focus on his loved ones.

“He has millions of fans who love him dearly. He is not 92 years old. In his illustrious career, he has sold over 100 million records, R&R Hall of Fame,” Bobby continued. “He will now retire. We will always have special memories of Frankie Valli. He has reached a place in his life where his family is there to love, cherish and to be there for him.”

The announcement followed Frankie’s decision in May to cancel his remaining 2026 tour dates to focus on his health.
