YouTube TV subscribers eligible for $92 settlement payout, deadline approaching

Thousands of former and current YouTube TV subscribers may be eligible for a cash payout as part of a $7.5 million class action settlement, with the claim deadline fast approaching.

The lawsuit, originally filed in June 2020, alleged that Google and YouTube TV violated California's Automatic Renewal Law by failing to clearly disclose subscription terms and obtain consent before charging customers.

While the companies maintained they had done no wrongdoing, they agreed to settle to avoid prolonged litigation.

Residents of California who were enrolled in and paid for at least one renewal term of a YouTube TV subscription between February 1, 2017, and October 29, 2021, purchased through YouTube billing for personal or household use are eligible.

Around $92.26 per claimant is the settlement payment, though the final amount will depend on the total number of valid claims submitted. Claimants can choose from multiple payout options, including ACH transfer, PayPal, Venmo, Zelle, a virtual prepaid card, or a paper check.

The last date to file the claim is August 30, 2026. Claims can be submitted via YouTubeTVSettlement.com using the login ID and PIN available on their settlement notice. Those who didn’t receive a notice can still file by downloading a claim form from the website and mailing it to the settlement administrator.

The final approval hearing is scheduled for October 15, 2026.
