Angel Reese's clash with Caitlin Clark goes viral during Dream's OT thriller over Fever

The latest chapter in the rivalry between the two WNBA sensations, Angel Reese and Caitlin Clark, saw the showdown end in favour of the Indiana Fever.

On Sunday night, despite the Indiana Fever putting up a strong fight, the spotlight shifted to an intense match-up between Clark and Reese.

The heated moment came with 4:10 minutes left in the first quarter of the game on August 16 at State Farm Arena in Atlanta, Georgia.

Clark and Reese were near the basket when the Atlanta star prepared herself to rebound the ball.

When Clark pushed back, Reese made contact with Clark and appeared to push her off.

But to the surprise of many, when Clark turned to the officials for a foul call, they didn’t call it.

The moment these clips of the incident surfaced online, it stormed the internet.

Angel Reese didn’t make excuses at a halftime in an interview with ESPN’s Holly Rowe.

“I was playing like s*** in the beginning, but it’s a game of runs,” she remarked.

“You’ve got to put that in your back pocket just because you know you have teammates that have your back.

"(Allisha Grey), Madina (Okot), (Rhyne Howard)—they’re carrying us right now," Reese continued.

“Just playing together, playing collectively and letting our defence speak for itself,” Reese echoed.

Reese closed the first half with seven points on 3-of-10 shooting and nine rebounds.

When asked what changed for her after the cold start, Reese responded, “Taking my time. Woosah. And just trusting my work.”

Reese, who was selected to play in the WNBA All-Star Game for the third time in her career, has been instrumental in the Dream’s 21-12 start this year.

She has posted a career-high 15.6 points with 12.0 rebounds per game in 32 appearances this year.

The Indiana Fever won the game 95-91 against the Atlanta Dream, securing a first place in the Eastern Conference of the WNBA.
