Six-time Pro Bowl WR Keenan Allen signs one-year deal with Colts

Keenan Allen, a six-time Pro Bowl WR, has inked a one-year contract with the Colts on Monday, August 17, 2026.

Allen, 34, appeared in 12 of his 13 seasons for the Bolts, reuniting with the franchise in 2025 after a one-year stint with the Chicago Bears.

The Indianapolis had been looking for options to strengthen their receiver lineup after losing Michael Pittman Jr. to an offseason trade.

With new No. 1 receiver Alec Pierce recovering from ankle surgery, the front office had a change of heart to reconsider Allen.

According to multiple media reports, Allen's contract is valued at $8.32 million.

The one-year contract with Allen would allow him to join again after a break with Colts coach Shane Steichen, who spent several years as the Chargers’ offensive coordinator.

Allen was coached by Steichen when the former was ranked as the team's top receiver.

Steichen is being viewed as an instrumental man who convinced Allen to join the Colts.

Allen finished the season with 81 catches, 777 yards and four TDs, was a third-round pick in the 2013 NFL draft out of the University of California.

He is ranked as one of the greatest players in Chargers history, where he played his first 11 seasons before he was traded to the Chicago Bears.

Allen led the league in third-down receiving first downs (29) and receptions (340), earning him the title “third-and-Keenan” from teammates.

Six-time Pro Bowler Allen's 1,055 career receptions rank him 13th in NFL history with 12,051 receiving yards and 70 TDs in 13 seasons.
