Taylor Swift seems to have made an unpredictable choice for the upcoming award season, which Swifties did not see coming.
The 36-year-old pop superstar has her album The Life of a Showgirl eligible to be considered for the Grammys, but she is expected to be taking a different route.
While fans were waiting on TLOAS finally getting the live performances and extensive promo, it turns out that the Opalite hitmaker will be submitting her Toy Story 5 soundtrack, I Knew It, I Knew You, for consideration in the Song of the Year category.
Whereas, her lead single from the album, The Fate of Ophelia, will be submitted for Record of the Year.
Fans were caught unawares by the news and flocked to social media, writing, "DONT YOU DARE TAYLOR ALISON SWIFT."
While another predicted, "I knew it i knew you will lose soty."
A third chimed in, "I admit I was quite upset (like those TLOAS haters) initially but now I can see why this is the right idea. At the end of the day, Oscar campaign will really be a game changer for someone who has 4 AOTYs."
Someone hoped, "and when both win," and "i knew it i knew you has more chances so this is for the best imo."
