King Charles makes big announcement as Prince Harry leaves US

Buckingham Palace has made a major announcement about King Charles and Queen Camilla hours after Prince Harry and Meghan Markle landed in the UK with their children.

The British monarch 77, and his wife Queen Camilla, 79, ​will carry out a week-long ‌tour of Caribbean nations later this year, visiting Antigua and Barbuda, ​the Bahamas and Guyana.

​Buckingham Palace broke the news on the royal family's official Instagram account with a portrait of the King and Queen on Wednesday.

The royal couple will attend the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM) which is being ​held in Antigua and Barbuda ​from November 1-4 this year.

The statement read: "The King and Queen will undertake an Autumn Tour from Tuesday, 27th October to Wednesday, 4th November 2026."

Prince William and Harry's father Charles, who ‌is ⁠king of Antigua and Barbuda, is also the head of the Commonwealth, a club of ​more ​than 50 ⁠countries that evolved from the British Empire.

Prior ​to the CHOGM meeting, the monarch ⁠will travel to the Bahamas, another nation where he is the monarch, ⁠and ​will also pay ​a state visit to Guyana.
