King's Office shifts focus from family drama to key message in new video

King Charles and Queen Camilla will be undertaking a crucial Caribbean tour in October which would include the Bahamas, Guyana and Antigua and Barbuda.

Buckingham Palace had made the announcement just hours after Prince Harry and Meghan Markle had landed in the UK. Some have speculated that it may have been “deliberately timed” to shift attention away from the Sussexes.

While the jury is still out on the claims, the King’s Office brought the spotlight into the meaningful work that has been done in Guyana for “healthier and more resilient communities” and making a “real and lasting” change.

It was revealed that the King’s Foundation has been working to implement a key plan in the nation since 2022, aligning with Charles’s efforts towards nature and sustainability.

“A team of architects and urban planners from The Kings Foundation Projects Team have been working with the Government of Guyana to support the country’s sustainable development,” a statement read alongside a short video documenting the work.

The video takes the viewer on the journey of Georgetown and how a new village is in works for development.

“Their work includes creating plans for the regeneration and growth of the capital city, Georgetown, and promoting healthy streets and outdoor spaces in the growing city – all helping to further the Commonwealth Declaration on Sustainable Urbanism.”
