Southwest flight attendant's final text revealed before fatal Hawaii layover

Jenny Lupton, a Southwest Airlines flight attendant who died after falling from a hotel balcony during a layover in Hawaii, has her family come up with a final text she shared moments before her death.

Amid the ongoing investigation into the circumstances that led to Lupton’s death during a Haewaii layover, her family offered some insights.

Lupton’s niece, Hannah, in an interview with CBS affiliate KWTV, revealed that she has spoken with witnesses who saw her visit her aunt the night before her apparent fall from the 24th-floor balcony of her Waikiki hotel room.

These include friends, fellow flight attendants, and a tattoo artist who worked with Lupton; all told Hannah she seemed happy and contented before her tragic death.

Hannah revealed her aunt’s last text, saying, “She was even texting one of the other flight attendants asking, ‘What are we doing tomorrow?’”

Hanned shared that her aunt was a devoted mom to her 15-year-old son and was an outgoing personality.

Jenny, 50, was discovered dead in a hotel room in Waikiki on August 20, 2026.

At the time, the authorities from Hawaii briefed her family that she died from an apparent fall.

The probe is in progress with the Honolulu Police Department, while the local coroner’s officer has yet to determine the cause of death, pending the autopsy report.

Separately, Southwest Airlines previously said Lupton died during a layover in Hawaii.
