Meghan Markle ‘in competition' with Victoria Beckham for key position

Meghan Markle seemed to have landed in a fresh new competition as reconciliation with Princess Kate appears to be a distant future.

The Beckhams have climbed up the ladder in British high-society exponentially in recent years, especially with the King’s favour. The former England football captain finally received his knighthood last year and has also been working closely with the royals, including the monarch and Prince William.

Meanwhile, with the Sussexes and the Beckhams, who were once on good terms, have bitterness towards each other. According to a royal expert, the competition may stem from jealousy.

“Meghan feels as though it is one rule for the Beckhams and another for her and Harry,” a source told royal author Duncan Larcombe. “This apparent double standard is a constant issue for Meghan, who sees herself as one of the most trolled women on the planet.”

Moreover, the recent success of Beckhams, be it their Netflix documentaries and the increased popularity, has only been fuelling the bitterness. Duncan cites that Meghan was “furious” and even the fallout was caused by “envy”.

It is a position that Meghan would have liked to have in the social circles, without the responsibility of being working royals.
