Queen Sonja bid farewell to the love of her life, King Harald, with an emotional public message made at a sombre event.
She left a small but heart-touching note with the wreath placed on the side of the King's coffin.
The message reads, "Takk for et godt liv", which translates to English as "thank you for a wonderful life."
Another wreath with white flowers and embroidered ribbon was placed with 'takk' (Thank you) written on it alongside the names of Haakon, Mette, Ingrid, Magnus and Marius Borg Hoiby, Haakon's stepson.
It is pertinent to mention that King Harald passed away at the age of 89 after suffering from a rare blood condition, hemolytic anaemia.
Norway's royal family announced his death on August 28 with a sad statement.
"It is with deep sadness that we announce that His Majesty King Harald passed away today.
"King Harald passed away peacefully at the National Hospital on Friday, August 28, at 6:35 a.m. (local time).
