Bruno Mars opening act Raye forced to leave stage 5 minutes into performance

Bruno Mars hit a major snag during the second show of his The Romantic Tour.

Just five minutes into performing, Mars’ opening act, Raye, was forced to leave the stage due to a severe thunderstorm warning in Philadelphia on Tuesday, September 1. Attendees were told to evacuate the open seating area at the Lincoln Financial Field and advised to seek shelter.

Although the show wasn’t cancelled, it was delayed by over an hour, meaning Raye couldn’t continue her opening act.

“We were only on stage for 5 mins,” the Grammy-winner wrote on her instagram Stories following the incident. “Sorry Philly we can’t perform the rest of our set because of the thunder.”

The tour kicked off two days earlier on August 29 in Pittsburgh, for which Raye was able to perform her full set, which includes Beware… The South London Lover Boy, Skin & Bones, Goodbye Henry, Know You’re Hurting, Joy, and Where is My Husband? (Funkytown Version).

After another Philadelphia show on Wednesday, the tour will continue for another 50 shows through May 2027, hitting Canada, Mexico, Singapore, Thailand, China, and South Korea.
