ls Sarah Ferguson planning for biggest escape of the year?

Sarah Ferguson is reportedly preparing to exchange her months long European escape for a new life back in Britain.

It’s a major change of scene for the former Duchess of York, who has spent much of the year away from the UK after leaving Royal Lodge. 

Her new home is reportedly costing around £10,000 a month and comes complete with three bathrooms and even a granny annexe.

Royal editor Emily Nash believes there could be more than one reason behind Fergie's decision to come home.

Sarah's close friend and former partner, motorsport businessman Paddy McNally, died in July, and reports tell that she may have benefited from his estate. 

McNally had reportedly allowed the 66 year old to stay at his Swiss property during her time abroad.

Sarah has recently become a grandmother for the third time after Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank welcomed their daughter Adelaide. 

Although the couple are based in Portugal, they regularly travel back to Uk, while her elder daughter Princess Beatrice also has children of her own.

As Emily put it on HELLO!'s A Right Royal Podcast: "What grandmother doesn't want to be closer to them?" She added that Sarah "can't live in exile forever."

Fergie’s departure from Royal Lodge followed the upheaval surrounding her ex-husband, Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor. 

The former couple had shared the Windsor property for around two decades despite divorcing in 1996, famously describing themselves as the "happiest divorced couple" in the world.

That arrangement finally came to an end when they were required to leave Royal Lodge, with Andrew moving to Marsh Farm on the Sandringham estate while Sarah began looking elsewhere.

Emily believes that Sarah could potentially have information relevant to the ongoing scrutiny of Andrew and questioned whether she has had any conversations with those investigating him.

"She will have information that people absolutely want to hear," Emily said.
