Jay-Z surprises fans with Lauryn Hill, Wyclef Jean appearance at tour

Jay-Z's ongoing string of star-studded guest appearances continued Friday night in London, where he brought out Lauryn Hill and Wyclef Jean for a mini-Fugees reunion during the opening night of his Jay-Z30 tour stop at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

The trio performed the Fugees' 1995 hit Ready or Not, and Jay-Z also welcomed South London rapper Giggs to the stage after shouting him out earlier in the set.

Jay-Z used part of the show to celebrate his wife, Beyoncé, projecting a birthday tribute to her on the stadium's big screen in honour of her birthday, though she did not join him on stage.

Beyoncé marked the occasion herself by releasing a 20th anniversary edition of her 2006 album B'Day the same day.

The London stop follows an especially guest-heavy run of shows at Yankee Stadium in July, where Jay-Z brought out 19 different performers across three nights, including Beyoncé, their daughter Blue Ivy, Rihanna, Eminem, Nas, Alicia Keys, Pharrell, Usher, Swizz Beatz and Teyana Taylor.

Jay-Z is set to perform a second night in London on Saturday before continuing the tour with a stop at Paris's Stade de France on September 10, followed by two shows at Los Angeles's SoFi Stadium on October 23 and 24.

The tour marks an active return to the stage for Jay-Z this year, following a headlining performance earlier in 2026 at the Roots Picnic in Philadelphia.
