Princess Anne tackles packed schedule with navy families and equestrian stars

Princess Anne is set for a busy day on Monday as her connections to the Royal Navy and sport take stage.

The Princess Royal will begin her day in Portsmouth, where she is due to visit the Royal Navy Family Sailing event at the Andrew Simpson Centre in her role as Admiral of the Royal Naval Sailing Association.

The visit will give Anne an opportunity to meet Royal Navy families taking part in the sailing activities and see how the sport brings service personnel and their relatives together away from their usual duties.

As Admiral of the Royal Naval Sailing Association, Anne supports an organisation dedicated to encouraging sailing among serving members of the Royal Navy, veterans and their families.

Later, the Princess will turn her attention to another of her enduring passions - horses.

She is due to attend the UK Armed Forces Equestrian Championships as Patron of the Royal Navy Equestrian Association, bringing her close to the military community and the sport that has played such a significant role throughout her own life.
