Meghan Markle and Prince Harry grab headlines over the reported demands and requests to King Charles as speculation swirls.
In an official letter, the Palace made clear that the British monarch has no plans to restore the Sussexes to senior working royal status.
According to a source close to the couple, that was never the ask. The insider revealed: "Meghan Markle and Prince Harry never pressured the monarch to overturn Queen Elizabeth's decision regarding their royal roles."
They added: "What the Sussexes truly want is peace, for the King and for themselves. Their focus now is on their children's future.
"Harry just wants to reconcile with his family, nothing else. He's fed up and tired of all the drama as he continues his charity work."
The insider explained the entire situation between the Sussexes and the royal family while confirming, "The Duke has just requested the monarch to continue his affection and love for Archie, Lilibet as he does not want them to be denied their birthright."
"For Harry, this matters more than any other luxury or status, as it truly belongs to his family's wellbeing and peace." they added.
Meanwhile, Meghan, 44, remains committed to the life she has established in California.
The couple's position is that the question was settled years ago. They are not interested in recreating a hybrid royal existence now that they have established an entirely different future for themselves.
They want to bury the hetchet with King Charles while pursuing the work that matters to them in Britain, but that doesn't mean they envy to become a working member of the royal family again.
