Prince William, Princess Anne walk behind King Harald V coffin: Watch

Prince William and Princess Anne represented the British monarchy during the funeral ceremony of King Harald V, held at the Oslo Cathedral on Wednesday.

The Prince of Wales and his aunt the Princess Royal appeared sombre during the emotional service as they joined the Norway Royal Family, and walked behind the coffin for the service.

Norway and the UK have longstanding ties and the royals are even related, which made the event much more personal to the British royals. King Harald V was King Charles’s second cousin once removed.

Following the death of Harald, Charles penned a heartfelt letter to pay tribute to his “dear cousin” who was “much-loved kinsman and friend”.

William is present at the event as his duty to King Charles, as royal tradition dictates that the heir to the throne is to attend funerals to represent the King. Meanwhile, Princess Anne is present to support her godson, the new Norway King Haakon.

Prince William was dressed in a black suit, while Anne was dressed in black.

Other royals were also in attendance including King Felipe and Queen Letizia of Spain, Belgium's King Philippe and Queen Mathilde, and Grand Duke Guillaume and Grand Duchess Stéphanie of Luxembourg.

Crown Prince Akishino and Crown Princess Kiko of Japan, King Abdullah II and Queen Rania of Jordan also arrived in Oslo today.

Denmark’s King Frederik X, Queen Mary and Crown Prince Christian, Princess Benedikte and Princess Alexandra were also present.
