Princess Anne receives heartfelt thanks during special 60th celebration

Princess Anne has been thanked for helping a much-loved riding centre celebrate six decades of bringing people and horses together.

The Princess Royal, who serves as Vice-Patron of the British Horse Society (BHS), visited the Margaret Haes Riding Centre in Bury as the organisation celebrated its 60th anniversary.

The post on Instagram shows Anne meeting young riders, volunteers, coaches and participants whose lives have been touched by the centre’s work, including those involved with the Changing Lives Through Horses programme.

Her visit also gave the centre a chance to recognise the people who have helped it thrive over the years, with Sarah Chadwick receiving the Volunteer of the Year Award for her dedication and support.

British Horse Society paid tribute to the Princess royal and thanked the Margaret Haes Riding Centre team for their warm welcome.

The organisation praised the centre’s “remarkable impact” who have helped make it an important part of the local community.
