Jennifer Lawrence reacts to 'fascism' slip-up, issues warning to fans

Jennifer Lawrence just joined Instagram, and one of the first things she did was react to her recent “fascism” faux pas.

Over the weekend, the Hunger Games star experienced an embarrassing slip-up while presenting the LVMH Prize for Young Fashion Designers, where she accidentally used the word “fascism” instead of “fashion.”

The moment was shared by internet personality Evan Ross Katz to his Instagram, and Lawrence saw the post days later after joining the social media platform on Wednesday, September 9.

Taking to the comments section, the Oscar-winner simply wrote, “Oops.”

During her speech on Friday, Lawrence, 36, was praising the nominees as the slip-up occurred. “Your passion shows that fascis–fascism? Excuse me,” she said as the audience burst into laughter. However, Lawrence recovered from the moment and continued, “Fashion isn’t just about clothing. It’s how we say something about who we are without saying a word.”

Meanwhile, the Silver Linings Playbook actress — who chose “JLaw” as her Insta handle as “JenniferLawrence was taken” — posted her first-ever Instagram video, saying she’s “giving it a shot.”

However, she warned followers, “If anyone says anything negative, I will quit. Immediately. No questions asked. If anyone thinks something mean, I’ll know — I’ll know. And I’ll quit.” 

Taking to her Stories, the mom-of-two doubled down, writing, “Please be mindful that any mean or aggressive comments can negatively affect the baby. It’s me. I’m the baby.”
