Duchess Sophie joins Zara Tindall for a rare royal day out at horse trials

The Duchess of Edinburgh enjoyed a day of equestrian sport alongside Zara Tindall as the pair made a rare joint appearance at the Cornbury House Horse Trials in Oxfordshire.

Sophie and Zara were pictured together on Friday during the third day of the popular event, chatting as they watched the action unfold at Cornbury Park. 

The Duchess also took part in the prize-giving, presenting an award to one of the day’s winners.

The Olympic medallist has long been one of the most accomplished equestrians in the royal family and regularly takes part in horse trials across the country.

She brought a country style to the occasion, pairing dark denim barrel-leg jeans with brown boots and a denim shirt, topped with a smart barn jacket from Fairfax & Favor.
