Buckingham Palace releases emotional footage featuring solemn royal tribute

Buckingham Palace has shared a moving tribute to the victims of 9/11, posting a commemorative video on Instagram as the world marks 25 years since the attacks.

The Palace shared footage from the special Changing of the Guard ceremony where the Duke and Duchess of Gloucester represented King Charles and took the Royal Salute on his behalf.

The video captures the ceremonial precision of the Guards as they make their way across the Palace forecourt, alongside moments from the musical tribute. 

The Band of the Coldstream Guards performed both the British and American national anthems, as well as Hymn to the Fallen and Amazing Grace.

The Palace wrote: “Remembering all those affected by the tragic events of 9/11, 25 years ago today.”

The post also recalled a deeply personal moment from earlier this year, when King Charles and Queen Camilla paid their respects at the 9/11 Memorial in New York during their State Visit to the United States.
