Big star studded festival canceled after beach damage

The Ocean Way Festival is now cancelled just two weeks before it was supposed to happen in Los Angeles.

The new music festival was going to take place on September 26 and 27 at Santa Monica beach.

Many big singers were set to perform, including Olivia Dean, Jack White, Khruangbin and The Killers.

Around 45,000 people were expected to attend each day as well but fans will now have to wait until next year.

The festival was canceled because Hurricane Marie damaged the beach.

The storm caused strong waves that removed a lot of sand from the area.

However, water from a nearby storm drain also damaged another part of the festival site.

Because of the damage, there was not enough safe space left for the huge event.

The city checked the beach and decided it would not be safe for fans or workers.

People who bought tickets will get their money back as the refunds are expected within five to seven business days.

Fans, moreover, were very upset by the sudden news. Many already made plans to attend and were excited to see the singers.

Some people online also wondered if low ticket sales had anything to do with the cancellation.

The official reason is the damage which is caused by the storm.
