King Charles to carry special tradition with Prince George in heartfelt move

King Charles maybe a busy man but he is also a doting grandfather to five grandchildren. Though rare, Charles has shown fondness for the children, especially for Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis, during public appearances.

He is seen with a big smile and would oftentimes make an endearing gesture for the children. While there are no such moments for Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet on the record, it is understood that Charles is very loving towards his grandchildren, but there is a special attention given to George.

The 13-year-old, who is the second in line to the throne, joined Eton College last week and the King’s former butler, Grant Harrold, shared that the monarch would continue a special royal tradition for George.

“I imagine the King will possibly try to recreate the afternoon tea routine that his mother and son shared with his grandson,” Harrold shared.

“Whenever he is in Windsor, I imagine he will make an effort to see George. He will want to know how he’s getting on at school, and also to start preparing him for the future.”

Prince William previously revealed that he often had tea with his grandparents when he was at boarding school.

“He understands better than anyone the challenges George will face as the future King going through the difficult teenage years,” Harrold explained. “He’s a very caring man and he loves his family dearly, so he will want to help his grandson in any way he can—even if that’s just being an understanding ear.”
