Prince Harry beams in birthday photo shared by his team

Prince Harry’s 42d birthday wouldn’t be complete without a reminder of the legacy he’s built.

As the Duke of Sussex marked yet another trip around the sun on Tuesday, September 15, his beloved Invictus Games foundation paid tribute to its founder with a throwback photo showing Harry in his element, beaming with delight.

The foundation, which Prince Harry founded in 2014 to support wounded, injured, and sick service personnel, included a simple but impactful message: “Happy Birthday to our founding patron, Prince Harry, the Duke of Sussex.”

Although it is tradition for senior royals to share official birthday portraits on their special day, King Charles recently made it clear that his youngest son remains a non-working royal despite moving back to the U.K. after six years.

Regardless, Harry has received several birthday wishes from his nearest and dearest, including his wife, Meghan Markle.

The Duchess of Sussex shared a photo montage of the birthday boy on Instagram, including a stunning black-and-white photo. “He’s simply the best,” she captioned the post. “Happy birthday, my love.”

The As Ever founder also included sweet snaps of Harry with their kids, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet.
