Prince William and Kate's next appearance is one fans have been eagerly awaiting

Prince William and Kate are preparing to bring some serious Hollywood glamour to London next week, with the royal couple set for a red-carpet reunion with Tom Cruise.

The Prince and Princess of Wales will attend the world premiere of Digger at the ODEON Luxe Leicester Square on Tuesday 22 September, where they are expected to meet Cruise and director Alejandro G. Iñárritu. 

The event will also serve as the 73rd Royal Film Performance, raising funds for the Film and TV Charity, which supports people working across the UK’s film and television industry.

The couple previously shared the red carpet with Cruise at the UK premiere of Top Gun: Maverick in 2022, when Kate made headlines in a dramatic off-the-shoulder Roland Mouret gown.

The Hollywood star was every inch the gentleman that evening, offering Kate a helping hand as she climbed the steps outside the cinema.

 Their reunion next week promises another star-studded royal appearance, this time surrounding a very different kind of film.

Digger is the latest project from Oscar-winning filmmaker Alejandro G. Iñárritu, with Cruise taking on the role of Digger Rockwell.

The film also stars Riz Ahmed, John Goodman, Sandra Hüller, Michael Stuhlbarg and Jesse Plemons.

The choice of film is particularly fitting for William, who has used his position to champion environmental causes alongside his work supporting the British creative industries. 

As President of BAFTA, the Prince has also maintained a close connection with the UK's film and television sector.

The filmmakers have praised the talent and expertise of the British crews who worked on the production, making its London premiere especially significant.
